Leonito - his first week

Image
Don't get me wrong, we love all our cats to bits, but our Little Lion is really taking over the house! It doesn't matter what activity we're involved in, he's got to be right in the middle.

Little Leonito is home!

Image
Our sweet Abyssinian kitten Leonito arrived by plane on Thursday. Murray had travelled to Cranbrook the day before, because the roads can be tricky this time of the year! It's a good thing he did, it was snowing almost all the way back to Creston.

Gato

Image
It's been a while since I recorded my guitar on Youtube, but I have certainly not given up on playing! Here is a little traditional piece called "Gato" (Cat in Spanish).

Introducing: Leonito

Image
In one of my previous blog posts, I mentioned that we happened to stumble upon a kitten - which of course did not happen in the end.

Our trip to Toronto - day 7

Image
Well, what is there to say about a last day of a vacation that is spent traveling? Airports are such boring places... except when we are traveling.

Our trip to Toronto - day 6

Image
Yesterday the weather started to change, it was raining in the evening. Not that we were complaining, it was predicted all week and only now did it actually happen. We were preparing ourselves for a wet and gloomy day. We would be pleasantly surprised, but I am getting ahead of my story.

Our trip to Toronto - day 5

Image
Another busy day in Toronto, hard to believe our vacation is already halfway over, there is so much we'd still like to see! Today we visited Chinatown, one of the largest Chinese populations outside of China.

Our trip to Toronto - day 4

Image
Only our second full day in Toronto, and it felt like we have been here forever! In the morning we went for a walk in Queen's Park and the University of Toronto campus, both grand places.

Our trip to Toronto - day 3

Image
Our first full day in Toronto! In the morning, we went up the CN Tower. The weather forecast was not too good for the rest of the week, so we thought we'd take advantage while the view was still clear.

Our trip to Toronto - day 2

Image
We stayed overnight in Calgary, so we could rise bright and early the next morning to get the 8:00 flight to Toronto.

Our trip to Toronto - day 1

Image
Murray and I shared several years together in bliss, in fact in November we celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary. We have been busy ever since, but one thing we have not done yet: go on vacation.

Good news and bad news equals... no news

Image
First I'll share the good news... which is actually bad news... which means I have no news at all! No, no, it's not a riddle, in fact it'll become quite clear what I mean in this very paragraph.

Whoa, time really flies!

Image
I can't believe how much time has passed since I last posted. But in all truth, not much has happened this summer, except perpetual sunshine, good weather (we are all still walking around in short sleeves), enjoying the outdoors, and hard work in and around the house.

And before you know it...

Image
A whole month has passed by! I haven't had much news to share though, life goes on - in a good way :) Not much has happened lately, except I did some travelling and came back with yet another guitar.

Into each life...

Image
Some rain must fall, but too much is falling in ours! Unbelievable, it is almost mid June, which should mean hot, sunny summer days, but we have none of that.

A Visit from Regina

Image
I don't usually blog about our visitors, but of course I have to make an exception whey they are "Foreign Vacationers"!

Canadians, eh?

Image
From now on, Murray and I will have to start saying "eh?" after every sentence. Why? Because... it is the Canadian way! Yes, this morning we both became citizens, eh?

Another day in the life

Image
What have the Burnses been busy with lately? Here a little update.

Raving Loomatic

Image
One thing my dear Momma never attempted to teach me was any love of sewing, knitting, embroidery, crochet and other needlework.

A trip to Calgary - part 3

Image
The morning of the stress(ful) test had finally arrived. For weeks Murray had been excited about it, worried silly and hardly slept.

A trip to Calgary - part 2

Image
Ignoring the sound of the continuous stream of traffic from the highway, and already used to the smell of engine fumes, we settled ourselves for the night. "Goodnight darling," "G'night love", and we snuggled our ears into our pillows.

A trip to Calgary - part 1

Image
We had seen it coming for a little while... at least two members of our family were in need of a little maintenance.

Our library floor

Image
It's been a while since I posted about our house renovations... but ever since we moved here, Murray has been working hard to create a gorgeous place, especially in the basement.

Bagpipes

Image
Murray has a new toy! It arrived today... miniature bagpipes for in house.

Liona Boyd in Cranbrook

Image
Well, the past two days have been really special to Murray and myself... we went to a dear friend's performance in Cranbrook yesterday evening.

March update

Image
Wow it's March already, time for a little update. It is still winter, although we really can't complain this year.

Blog Book

Image
Murray and I decided to celebrate the first six years of the rest of eternity we plan to spend together... by publishing this blog so far as a book.

Spoiled women

Image
Did I ever mention that Murray spoils me rotten? Well, he does. I get coffee in bed every morning, so I get to read the news on my tablet or laptop in sheer luxury.

I guess it's slippery out there

While I was downstairs, playing a duet with our cat Atrus...

Such a small world

Image
Sometimes I can't believe what a small world we live in.

Sew cute

Image
A few days ago I decided to get my sewing machine out. I wanted to create a clothes pegs bag in the form of a little dress.
