Canadians, eh?

From now on, Murray and I will have to start saying "eh?" after every sentence. Why? Because... it is the Canadian way! Yes, this morning we both became citizens, eh?

There were 44 persons in total who received their citizen certificate, but with family and friends present, there was a fair crowd.

The ceremony was in the Cranbrook Museum of Rail Travel, what a lovely building! Murray and I are bound and determined to visit that museum again soon, it is ever so nostalgic and brought us right back to old movies of the 30's and 40's. This is the majestic entrance of the building.

Then we were seated in a large, gorgeous hall, where the citizen judge and other government officials welcomed us as new citizens, and handed each of us a certificate.

Luckily, we were not made to guess which one is the Canadian flag :)

And then there was cake! Unfortunately we did not get to taste it, because we knew the cats were hungrier than we were... having had to skip breakfast (we stayed in Cranbrook overnight).

The biggest surprise was coming home. Our neighbors had decorated our whole front yard, how sweet!

Last but not least, they left us a very useful gift: covers for our brand new Canadian passports we shall soon receive. Thanks Larry and Dianna, we really appreciated that kind gesture!
