And so, suddenly, we found ourselves back where we started exactly one week ago: in Vancouver. The time had gone so fast, but it did feel good to be back again.
We were scheduled to disembark at 8am sharp, so we woke up at 6:30 to have an early breakfast and say a warm goodbye to Tim, Ria and Mulyono. They hugged us as if we were their best friends, and truth be told we felt the same way. We thanked them for their fantastic service during the week, not once had we seen them grumpy or unhelpful.
The last stunning views gliding by!
We bought this pretty lady to be our permanent guest in our home:
Arriving in Vancouver:
Coming home to a pretty field:
It got so bad that at one point, I woke up in middle of the night holding on to the side of the bed, gasping at how terrible the waves were! How rough the sea! Half asleep still, I got up to go to the bathroom and the floor was moving so much, that I had to grab the bedpost quickly to steady myself and prevent me from toppling over. That very moment, I woke up a bit more and realized we were right at home, in our own bedroom! Everything was steady as a rock except me!
But after a few days, that passed and life got gradually back to normal.
All in all this was a vacation we'll never forget. There is so much more to see and do in Alaska and the ship itself. We can't wait to go again, next year!
