More than nine years ago, I raved about my then new computer. It was top notch! But that was nine years ago.
As these things go, it finally started to get a little long in the tooth, especially when I try to play games (currently: No Man's Sky which I can barely play at the lowest settings). At first we thought of upgrading my older system, but it turned out it's actually less expensive to get a prebuilt version.
So, I proudly present: my soon to arrive brand new Dell Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition gaming desktop. Specs as follows:
- AMD Ryzen(TM) 7 3700X (8-Core, 32MB L3 Cache, Max Boost Clock of 4.4GHz)
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 6GB GDDR6 (OC Ready)
- 16GB Dual Channel HyperX(TM) FURY DDR4 XMP at 2666MHz
- Dark Side of the Moon chassis with High-Performance CPU Liquid Cooling and 850W Power Supply
- 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD (Boot) + 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s (Storage)
- Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 (2x2) and Bluetooth 5.0
For us non-geeks, that means it's mean, lean and blazingly fast... and looks like it's straight from a science fiction movie.
Thanks Mur, for this terrific engagement present. Yes, I almost forgot to mention it, today we are celebrating our fifteenth engagement anniversary - we got engaged in London, England on the 5th of May, 2005. What a date to remember: 05-05-05!
Happy engagiversary, my darling!
